Seremban Kee Mei Siew Pow

This is like, the black cousin of the (white) steamed buns from kopitiam steamers and dim sum shops. This is the meaner, buttery version of the charsiew wrapped in carbohydrates combo.

Mmmmmmmmm. The butter part? Yeah I was oblivious to it, before I visited the stall and watched them make/bake the buns.

Should have taken a clearer shot, but you can see a paintbrush dipped in that bucket of ghee/butter/margarine. Yucks. But I'm assuming it was clean in the first place and that they just use it to grease the pans. Because I mean, if they used it to coat the tops of the soft white (prematurely spankable) buns, they'd break.
Fragile! ;)

YUM. She speaks mandarin (or some dialect) so just say "ONE, CHAM BUN."
Makes your life so much simpler. T.T

Sorry? Just one?

Say: "Aunty, FIVE. CHAM BUNS."

Or alternatively just show her five fingers and POINT at them. Good enough.

OR you could be hardworking and do a canto-crash course from your dad.

Seremban Kee Mei Siew Pow @Segambut.
Go ahead, go crazy. :)
