I honestly need to stop eating these (for now, I mean).
They are SO ADDICTIVE. And I just realized: they are HEATY.
"In traditional chinese medicine, the notion of heaty (yang) as opposed to cooling (yin), is related to the balancing of the 'yin' and 'yang.' To most people in Asian countries (e.g. China, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore), and especially the Chinese in the said countries, such concepts are very much part of the indigenous culture."

Right. So after downing the ENTIRE BOWL in one sitting (no joke)... I'm feeling this deep heat emanating from within me. Whoahaa.

Came back from Penang the day before yesterday. :) It's the durian/rambutan season there and honestly, every CORNER you turn, there'll be a happy browned Chinese peddlar attempting to sell these at cut-throat prices.
We took a detour to the mountains (haha okay fine, HILLY AREAS) and I squealed (no joke) when I found rambutan trees LADEN with fruit.
The two elderly men sitting at the gates let us in! As long as we didn't bring any (rambutans) out, we could pick (and consume) as many (rambutans) according to our whims and fancies (mine were pretty demanding).
There were durian trees too but they were understandably showered with less attention compared to its more readily available, gorgeous, red and hairy counterparts.
The greedy little girl in absolute ecstasy...
Found a yellow rambutan tree! :)
