Chooi Ern: My class has like, 43 people...
Well, my university's pretty big (Chewy's in Nottingham!! :) ). Chem class is over 350 people, and you end up sitting next to a different person each time. On a side note, that's for chem, if you're taking, let's see, "Festivals of America" (wth?) or "History of UVa" (where you sit down in a cute little circle on the lawn and talk about good old TJ...) then you'll have about 10 people, but you get my point I guess. Uni is big, the place is big, America is big...
So, to get social, you really need to put lots of effort. My sister lives just 10 minutes away, and it's really tempting to just keep going back because it's family. And you should spend time with family anyway, because they are family.
Family's second-most important. (comes after God)
But then again, you can't just keep getting whisked away (yes, I'm lucky to even get that option) all the time because that will severely compromise the time you have trying to build up relationships with your peers.
Tonight I am going to Charles and Kate's place for dinner (and to see their cute baby!). They are my sister's friends and I have met them a grand total of one time, during Rachel and Albert's wedding last year (they baked the yellow cake with frosting, if I'm not mistaken. I wrote the labels.)
I've been hanging out with my sister's friends pretty often, and I tell myself too, that it's good that I know her friends more because I'll be here for quite a bit, and they're my sister's friends anyway, and my sister is very important to me because she's family.
The main ingredient of a good friendship is time. And I'm getting pretty impatient.

On a side note, I miss my Malaysian friends so so much!
